Middleton Student Launches Book-Sharing Platform to Foster Reading Culture

Shalibeth Tiffany, our Grade 12 student at Middleton International School, is leading a movement to make reading more accessible and sustainable with the launch of Middleton Reads—a website that encourages students to share and exchange books within the school community.
As shared in her feature on Tamil Murasu and Tabla!, she was inspired by the success of this initiative, Shalibeth Tiffany expanded her vision beyond Middleton, creating School Reads and SG Reads—platforms designed to facilitate book exchanges within schools and the wider Singaporean community.
Set to officially launch during Book Week in April, Middleton Reads aligns with this year’s theme of sustainability in literature. Through the platform, students can register books they have finished reading and exchange them with their peers, reducing waste while fostering a love for reading.
