Charlie Spiller
Head of Intensive English Programme & EAL at Middleton International School, West Coast
My name is Charlie Spiller and I’m the new Head of the Middleton Intensive English Programme, MIEP and English as Additional Language, EAL courses at Middleton International School.
I started teaching in 2000 and have been teaching, training teachers and managing educational programmes ever since. I’ve worked with students, parents and schools in Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Egypt, Vietnam, the UK and Singapore. In terms of qualifications, I hold a UK Postgraduate Certificate in Education, PGCE (Primary) and a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, DELTA. Additionally, I have an MSc Educational Leadership that focuses on leading education programmes in cross-cultural contexts. As a teacher and school leader, I believe that challenge is key to learning for my students, the teachers that I work with and, of course, for myself. This is actually my second position in Singapore so you can tell that I love it here! When I’m not at work, I like to spend my time keeping fit, exploring the region and lounging with a good book and a coffee.
