Christopher John Brassington

Secondary Teacher

Chris completed his degree at the University of Nottingham and did a PGCE in Drama at Middlesex University. He later completed a Master of Arts degree in Applied Theatre at The Royal Central School of Drama whilst running a Drama department in a London Comprehensive School.

He trained at Skylight Circus in Manchester and at the Desmond Jones School of Mime and Physical Theatre and The Poor School in London. He has performed at The Edinburgh Fringe and on film and television. He endeavors to use the skills from his practical performance background to make his lessons more accessible for students.

Chris has taught for over thirty years and finds it even more rewarding in today’s screen saturated society when young people are empowered to collaboratively engage in imaginative play. He is committed to enabling students to unlock key play texts and create work that is meaningful to them.

Outside of teaching, he spends time with his family, watches world cinema, reads great works of literature and writes indie-rock songs on the guitar.
