Gemma Milligan
Secondary Teacher
Gemma hails from the picturesque landscapes of Scotland where she gained her undergraduate degree in English Literature. However, her academic journey did not stop there: she spent an enriching year at the University of St Andrews, earning a master’s degree in the specialised course ‘Women, Writing, and Gender’. This experience deepened her understanding of the intersections between literature and social issues, shaping her holistic approach to teaching.
Core to Gemma’s beliefs are mindfulness and the importance of fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment for her students. She integrates mindfulness practices into her teaching, helping students develop not only academically but also emotionally and mentally. This approach reflects her commitment to educating the whole person and preparing students for both academic success and personal well-being.
Outside the classroom, Gemma is an avid lover of yoga, which she practices daily to maintain balance and inner peace. When she’s not practicing yoga or befriending stray dogs and cats, Gemma can usually be found cradling a cup of coffee and reading fantasy fiction.
