Hirva holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International) from Nottingham
University, UK, a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine (with distinction) from
Imperial College, UK, and a Master of Science in Microbiology & Environmental
Biotechnology from Gujarat University, India. With a background in Microbiology,
Molecular Medicine, and Genetics from Imperial College London, her career includes
roles in global pharmaceutical companies and prestigious research institutes such as
the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO, and the Medical Research Council,
UK. She began her teaching career at Republic Polytechnic of Singapore, where she
taught Biomedical Science and Pharmaceutical Science modules. Hirva has also
taught at MDIS Institute of Singapore, Singapore American School (SAS), and
Dulwich College Singapore.
Passionate about travel, Hirva loves exploring and appreciating different cultures.
She also enjoys singing, dancing, running, yoga, and cooking. Active in community
service, she has been involved with Singapore-based charities like We Care, Lone
Bowl Association for disabled people, and Sai Love Centre for elderly people.
Hirva is excited to begin her international teaching career at Middleton International
School. A highly motivated and reflective practitioner, she perceives learning as a
reciprocal, symbiotic, and synergic process that takes place within and outside the
classroom, between teacher students, and peers. A passionate researcher
during her academic and professional years, Hirva aims to instil the same
earnestness in her students, helping them build a strong foundation in science,
fostering both knowledge and curiosity and guiding them to discover their potential.
