Visual Art Teacher
Joyce is a dedicated educator with over twelve years of experience teaching visual arts in Singapore public schools. She holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University, Australia, and specialized qualifications in Art Education from the National Institute of Education and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Joyce’s passion lies in integrating Arts Pedagogy and Practices into her teaching, constantly exploring innovative methods to engage her students effectively.
With a strong belief in fostering meaningful connections with her learners, Joyce endeavours to enhance her subject knowledge continuously. She designs dynamic lessons aimed at nurturing students’ metacognitive skills, encouraging self-questioning, and fostering a reflective learning environment. Advocating for the transformative potential of Visual Arts within Arts Education, Joyce inspires her students to explore their artistic intuition and embrace diverse forms of expression.
Beyond her role in education, Joyce finds fulfilment in pursuits like Chinese ink painting and calligraphy. She is an active member of the Botanic Art Society of Singapore, where she leads workshops, organizes field trips, and facilitates outdoor sketching sessions. Moreover, Joyce volunteers her time at Art Outreach Singapore Ltd, contributing to performing arts activities during Singapore Art Week, thereby deepening her engagement within the vibrant arts community.
