Shujing Gui
Librarian and EAL Teacher
Born and raised in China, Shujing spent the first 25 years of her life in my hometown of Wuhan. She had a bachelor’s degree in English Language, and embarked on a journey into the world of education, beginning her career as an English teacher in Wuhan upon graduation.
In 2009, she relocated to Singapore, where she furthered my expertise by pursuing a diploma in Chinese Language Teaching at the Confucius Institute of Nanyang Technological University. She got her certification to teach Mandarin to speakers of other languages in 2019. Not content with resting on my laurels, she delved into the realm of phonics instruction, completing Jolly Phonics training in the same year and subsequently incorporating this knowledge into her teaching practice.
Two years ago, she embarked on a new chapter of my professional journey by joining EtonHouse, where she transitioned from being a teacher to becoming a lifelong learner. At EtonHouse, she discovered the joy of teaching in an unconventional and creative manner, particularly with young learners who never fail to infuse each day with laughter and excitement.
This year, she proudly accepts the roles of EAL teacher and Librarian at Middleton International School, viewing this opportunity as a rewarding challenge that she embraces with utmost enthusiasm. Her aim is to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment, where each student’s growth is nurtured in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
Beyond my professional endeavours, she is blessed with a loving marriage and two wonderful children aged 10 and 28 months. In her leisure time, she enjoys activities such as cooking, volleyball, photography and platies. She also enjoys loving moments spent with cherished friends and family.
She eagerly anticipates the opportunity to collaborate with parents as partners in facilitating children’s growth and development.
