We arrived in Singapore in August 2019 and both children have attended Middleton International School Tampines since October 2019. Gabriella is now in Grade 12 and Jessica is in Grade 8.
Most adults have that one teacher who made a significant difference in their lives and they remember that teacher forever. Middleton has many of these types of teachers. They’ve made an impact and difference in both our children’s and our lives throughout the time we’ve been in Singapore. Moving to Singapore has been hard for us and Middleton has made it easier for my daughters.
The school has wonderful counselling and pastoral teachers with an open-door policy. Children are treated as individuals and families as units. Our daughters are not just a name and number, but individuals with their own personalities, needs and expectations and are part of a family.
Each child is viewed within their family situation. The teachers also encourage parent communication so that they can help the child specifically – for example, if there is a death in the family or if a child is experiencing social anxiety disorder.
The school supplements the Cambridge syllabus with Mandarin and other languages according to demand from students. There are many activities for students, too. These include STEM, drama, arts, dance, and physical activities such as roller-blading, golf and tennis. The school’s sports programme has grown in the past two years to include soccer, badminton, netball, basketball and cross country. It now competes in the Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools.
Students are also encouraged to help shape the school as it grows. The large student council body implements policies and activities that improve the school experience of students. We definitely recommend Middleton to families.

We’ve been in Singapore for five years now and both our children started at Middleton in 2018, Ameera in Grade 1 (now in Grade 6) and Yousef in K2 (now in Grade 4).
We found out about the school when researching online. It’s in a convenient location close to where we lived and is reasonably priced. Before enrolling our kids, we had a tour of the school, and we really liked the teachers.

It has been more than 2 years since my daughter, Catherine, started her study at MIS (Tampines). We were very happy to see her progress in the school in all aspects: knowledge, behaviour, and physical fitness. We are so grateful to teachers and staff at MIS for their contribution to my daughter’s development. We unfortunately need to withdraw from Middleton due to our family’s arrangement. It was such a great pity Catherine couldn’t continue to study in such a wonderful school like Middleton International School. We were very happy about the quality of education in the school. Please extend my deepest thanks to all teachers of Catherine: Ms Samantha of Grade 1 Dolphin 2019, Ms Casey of Grade 2 Willows 2020, Mr Luke of Grade 3 Wombats, Ms Claire (Visual Arts teacher), Mr Mark (PE teacher), and all teachers and staff at the school. We believe that with the core values at MIS, the school will be one of the best school in Singapore.

As soon as I walked into Middleton and saw the smiles of the children and staff, I knew we were in the right place. The principal was very assuring and I just knew I wanted to be a part of this school…Because MIS follows the IPC, my children pick up skills and knowledge that are transferable, and they can fit back to the UK education system if we return.
